Motion made by Linda to approve last month’s meeting minutes. Emily seconded the motion.
Last Food Truck Night of the Summer – Aug 9
Donna will be there tomorrow night anyway, and she is subbing for Amy Randolph
Kathy will be there as it is Bonnie’s Pep Band
Emily suggested adding something about “Take food to go” in case of bad weather
Please remember to bring new or gently used kids jackets to donate to Clothes To Kids
Bike Streets (new collaboration for UHNA) will be providing a free bike corral, so please ride your bikes if you can
Movie Night Updates – Eddie
Lisa got approval today from DPS regarding “Use of Facilities”
Mrs. Kim Ulery (new Bradley Principal) and family may attend
Movie night is our biggest event of the year, so we really need everyone to come and pitch in
Donna will arrive around 3:00 PM to set-up and decorating and will stay the entire evening
Porta-a-Potty will not give a window of delivery
Bike streets Denver will be providing a free bike corral (for safe and secure bike parking), so we need to encourage everyone to ride their bikes. This could potentially help us to apply for a sustainability grant next year. They are an “In Kind Sponsor.”
Donna will get specific info to Emily for posting. Donna will also call Bike Streets to get a Vector File
Donna will reach out to Hugh for the UHNA Vector File too
What time are the food trucks planning on arriving?
R & B Tacos and Pizza Truck will arrive about 4
Kona Ice will arrive about ?
Live music will run from 6 to 7
The Band is “Mud & Marrow”
Emily said we should start posting info and have a ½ sheet flier to hand out at Food Truck Friday tomorrow night
(Donna will work on that tomorrow before FTF) also for Back to School and Meet & Greet the Teacher events next week)
Also ½ sheets for BIS Friday Folders the first and/or second Friday after school starts
Donna will get Emily and Lisa an email with all the sponsor logos for the slideshow for Movie Night
Donna will be supplying the sound system
David will follow up w/Ace about the Popcorn Popper
Donna will bring the fliers and posters for “Suggested Donation” (as she did for Egg Hunt) in hopes of significant donations from that night
Eddie will give a brief intro of the Board and about all the work that goes into the event
David said UHILLS Ross will have a table and do kids activities
Lisa’s friend Mark (the puppeteer/ventriloquist) will arrive around 4 for a show @ 5 and another before 6)
Treasurer's Report – Linda (*texted Linda and asked her to email me the specific details of expenses, as I was unable to get them down fast enough to add at the time to the minutes. I will add them (or she can) when I get them).
Current Balance - $ 1,040.44 as of the end of July

Paid $ 670 Airbound 50% deposit (balance due on movie night)
Paid $ 630 Swank Motion Pictures - Movie License
Paid $ 280.29 Honeybucket for the Port-o-Potty
About $1000 needed to cover upcoming costs/expenses
Still need to pay $ 400 to the band for Movie Night
President's Report - Donna
Our email list was attacked by bots. Donna added a reCAPTCHA to the sign-up form and has deleted hundreds of fake emails. Even though our subscriber numbers are way down because of this, now most subscribers are real people and our open rate will improve dramatically

On July 31, Kathy gave a fascinating talk at the library about the history of the University Hills. There were requests to add some of her slides to our website. There were also requests for Kathy to do a 2nd session or Part II
Donna has been making connections with other communities like the First Universalist Church and Grace Methodist in an effort to build more relationships between the UHNA and other groups in the neighborhood
Donna asked if they both would like to have a liaison on our board
The both have Concert Series and if they want to share their info to us and we would share their info to our community
Possibility of using space at either of those locations for community meetings
Donna spoke with someone @ DPR. They are doing a Pilot Experiment Program on the Outdoor Pickleball Courts using a solid foam ball. Date for program is TBD

News about a potential service day at Bradley?
Since everyone has just come back into the building this week, there has been very limited conversation about this thus far. Lisa spoke w/Kim (the new principal) today and discussed the possibility of mid-late September into early October as a possibility. Lisa will meet w/the new Facilities Manager in the next couple of weeks (he is a bit overwhelmed at the moment) to let him know this is an ask of UHNA and want to help build community, improve Bradley’s appearance in the community and will benefit all, including the students
September Community Meeting – Thursday, Sept 12, 6:30 PM @ Eisenhower Rec Center
