Movie Night Planning

  • Is the movie night a must-have? – Yes, it is part of our brand and always what we’ve done

    • Being at Bradley, it gets families there and feeling like part of the community. It facilitates neighborhood spirit, and it makes people want to enroll their children in schools here.

    • Gets people to know parents, teachers, kids, etc

    • Could we try to partner with Bradley?

  • Hundreds of people typically attend: 400-500

  • New date -

        • PTO won’t have another meeting until school starts, but they can hold a vote before then

        • If PTO says no/we don’t have money, then we won’t apply

    • We need more competitive options for the movie screen – they can be super expensive

      • Kathy has a big pull-down screen

      • Mark is asking a friend to donate a screen for a night – he could potentially write it off as a business expense, not a tax-deductible donation

      • Need a high-quality projector, sound, screen, and someone to monitor the screen

Council Updates

Hampden Multimodal Improvements

Project Will Affect Motorists June-August

The Hampden Multimodal Improvement Project is helping implement a vision for Hampden Avenue developed with residents and businesses to improve safety and provide more comfortable and convenient crossings. The project will take place on Hampden Ave from I-25 to E. Girard Ave.

Some impacts to motorists will occur throughout the project with the majority happening during the construction of the raised median. When work begins mid-June, motorists can expect westbound lane closures on Hampden Avenue between Girard Avenue and Florence Street.

Working hours will be from 7am to 5pm weekdays. Some night work may occur.

Beginning in July, barriers will be placed on Hampden Avenue closing down a lane in each direction through August. Motorists should allow for extra time in their schedules for possible delays.
