New Potential Event Denver Metro Jazz in the Park, Friday, August 15 (Kathy and Torin)
18-piece jazz band – Inaugural season
The Denver Metro Jazz Big Band
6:30 p.m. - 7:30 – one hour long set
Encourage folks to bring chairs, blankets, food, etc
Kathy borrowing Donna’s generator
By the playground – The band would be facing east on the grass toward the picnic/shelter area.
Action items:
Kristin follow up on Kathy’s email to Diana Romero-Campbell. Will also recommend the Denver Metro Jazz Big Band for South by Southeast. Working to get her to sponsor the event so the fees can be waived.

Food truck Fridays starting June 6; typically with music and hosted every other week with food trucks. (Arianna)

Community Updates:
The Vibrant Denver Bond program empowers communities to take an active role in shaping and preparing Denver for the future. General obligation (GO) bond programs are used to fund new public parks, recreation centers, libraries, arts and cultural venues, roads, bridges, police stations, and other public facilities. They are also used to repair and improve existing facilities without raising taxes. Arianna and Molly represented UHNA at the March 18th meeting. Submit bond project ideas to the below survey. Community Advisory Board Opportunities:
The Board of Ethics Nomination Committee recommends individuals to the Mayor and City Council to be appointed to the 5-member Denver Board of Ethics. The Nomination Committee meets only when there is a vacancy on the Board of Ethics. https://bit.ly/BOEnominating
Five positions on the newly established Office of Neighborhood Safety Community Advisory Board. Board members will work together to ensure the voices of Denver’s diverse communities are incorporated into recommendations to the Office of Neighborhood Safety. https://bit.ly/ONSadvisory
Denver Great Kids Head Start Policy Council, which oversees Denver’s Head Start program, promotes understanding of the Head Start program, and hears and resolves community conflicts concerning Head Start programs. https://bit.ly/HeadStartPolicyCouncilAppt
