Initial "Steering Committe" Meeting Highlights

We had a very nice meeting at Lee McDonnel's home this week. It was great to meet you and other new neighbors, that have an equal goal of keeping our neighborhood clean and safe.

Please find brief minutes from our meeting to keep us all on "schedule" for our next gathering.
Topics Covered:

  • Organizing the Association
  • Newsletters/Communication
  • T-Rex Updates
  • Yard Upkeep
  • Zoning Issues Per Carol Davis, we are now registered with the City and County of Denver, officially as the "University Hills Neighborhood Association".

Tom Glazier, presented some basic structures that we need to address to get this association off the ground to allow momentum to happen - for each end everyone's personal and community issues.

It was agreed upon that we establish the following:
  • Define Purpose
  • Establish Mission Statement
  • Create Board members Carol shared a structured statement from a neighboring Association and Pat Scott enhanced the statement, which will be shared in future emails, as I did not have an opportunty to scratch it down.

...per my notes - something to this effect: We choose to collectively address issues and challenges in our neighborhood, open to any and all residents within our boundaries - and to inform and educate our neighbors...

Please review this statement - study, meditate on it, pray about it, add to it and plan to meet with us at Lee's on the 28th, as we plan to finalize this statement - and move on to the next duty of organizing our structured neighborhood association.

We unanimously agreed that a regularly mailed newsletter would be the best form of communication. Perhaps monthly or quarterly. Representative Penny Lehman's assistant Diane was present, and has volunteered the funding of our first 2 initial newsletter mailings.

Please find below - a list of Steering Committee
members that have attended our meetings.

    Got questions? Got suggestions?
Email, call me - or attend the next meeting!

    Kindest Regards,
